When to visit Dublin
La St Patrick's festival - Anthony Cronin - cc

Fancy a trip to Dublin in March to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and see the city from every angle? Although March isn’t the best time of year, it’s still an option, even if you do run the risk of some unpleasant weather. Expect mild temperatures (between 5 and 9°C) and rainy spells alternating with dry days.

What’s the weather like in Dublin in March?

Cold temperatures and risk of snow

In March, Dublin is still experiencing cold and rainy spells… But there’s nothing insurmountable about having an unforgettable St. Patrick’s Day!

Even so, expect temperatures below 10°C, even during the day, and periods of rain. It’s enough to make you want to warm up in museums or local Irish pubs, next to a roaring peat fire!

For a pleasant stay, don’t forget the essentials: warm clothes, sweaters, gloves and a warm hooded coat (or umbrella). You’ll have a great time, despite the sometimes uncertain weather in March (which is prone to sleet!).
