A country known for its spirits

Guinness, Paddy, Bushmills… sound familiar?

We won’t dwell on the strong drinking reputation of the Irish… The legend tends to exaggerate but one thing is certain: the Irish population has a rather refined taste when it comes to beers, ciders, and whiskeys.

So much so that the island has become a true master in producing essential drinks.

The most striking example is Guinness, a dark beer with a strong character, which has now become a sort of national emblem of success. So much so that over a million pints of Guinness are consumed daily in Ireland! (Not to mention the millions of tons sold worldwide every day).

The quality of the beer, combined with relentless marketing, has made it a globally known beer, exported by the millions of liters to all countries!

Among other drinks in Ireland, note also the group of Irish whiskeys, made using an ultra-sophisticated triple distillation technique, a method unique to Ireland. Jameson, Bushmills, Paddy, Teeling, Roe & Joe, etc. The names follow one another, the tastes vary… and attract thousands of travelers each year who come to visit their distilleries!

Finally, know that Ireland also has other types of drinks to which the Irish are very attached. Bailey’s Irish Cream is one of them: this whiskey cream is a kind of liqueur, usable as a drink or as an ingredient for confections, and is a great classic of the country. (Even more so at Christmas, when you find chocolates, truffles, and many other variants based on this liqueur.)

In short, you got it: there are countless drinks in Ireland. Many are alcoholic, but you will also find your match with Irish tea, or even Blackcurrant… colorful drinks that might well surprise you!
