While collecting garbage on a beach, an American family from New Jersey made an unusual find when they came across a bottle with a message inside! After opening it, they realized that an Irish woman by the name of Aiofe was the source of the message. Giving few details about her identity, she is said to have launched her bottle into the sea, from a beach in Ireland in 2019…
It took several years for the famous bottle to wash up on a beach. Several years before it was spotted under a clump of seaweed, and opened by a curious family.
It was Frank Bolger’s family who found the bottle. Identified on a beach in Wildwood, New Jersey, on August 17, the bottle was in perfect condition.
We found the bottle in some seaweed right at the water’s edge,” says Bolger. We had to take it home to find that there was a message stuck in the bottle.
And what a message! Written on white paper, the letter read simply:
Greetings from Ireland.
I threw this bottle into the sea for someone to find another day. Maybe he traveled to Africa or Iceland! I won’t know if anyone has found this, but I hope they do!
The letter, dated July 17, 2019, is signed “Aoife”, without further information.
That’s all it took to arouse the Bolger family’s curiosity. Determined to find this “Aiofe”, Frank relayed her find on the Web, and launched an appeal to identify the author of this message…
