Capture the beauty of the Cliffs of Moher for 365 days… This was the crazy project of Kev L Smith, a photographer and filmmaker, who decided to photograph one of Ireland’s most beautiful natural sites on a daily basis! Rain, snow or shine, the young man didn’t hesitate to pull out his camera to reveal all the magic of the place. And the results, compiled in a new book, are more than striking!
Living nearby in County Clare, the photographer in question decided in 2018 to focus on Ireland’s most famous cliffs. An ambitious project, which enabled him to capture a full year of the place.
It was on the occasion of the 2020 confinement that he decided to compile his work into a book. A magnificent book, punctuated by striking photos. Spectacular views taken in spring, summer and winter… Shooting in rain, sun or snow…
Kev L Smith has found an opportunity to reveal the elusive beauty of these cliffs, as well as their evolution over time, climate and light.
I’m lucky enough to live near the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare. So I spent many hours photographing their beauty and magic. he explains in a press release. Whether from my kayak or hiking along the cliffs, I’ve always been amazed by the variety of spectacular views they offer, whatever the time of year.
As the seasons change, so do the light and texture of the cliffs and ocean.
The book is already a great success in Ireland, and should be of interest to budding travelers who are sometimes frustrated at not being able to spend a few hours in this place.
A percentage of each sale of the book will be donated to Enable Ireland. Count €40 per book. It’s available here.
