Moran’s Oyster Cottage is fortunate to be located close to one of Ireland’s most prized “natural oyster beds”. Located in Clarenbridge at the mouth of the Dunkellin and Clarenbridge rivers, these flat oysters are unique in that they are grown naturally, without human intervention, giving them a taste like no other.
These oysters are served directly from Moran’s Oyster Cottage. Hot, cold, topped with garlic breadcrumbs… There’s something for everyone!
But the restaurant doesn’t just offer this exceptional dish! On the menu: grilled mussels, crab claws, smoked salmon… All accompanied by their delicious Soda Bread, a 100% Irish bread with a little butter.
The welcome is friendly, fast and efficient. The owners always have a kind word for their customers, and are very friendly and professional. The restaurant is an old thatched cottage that has lost none of its superb, picturesque charm. As for the dishes, they are ultra-copious, served with a solid beer and wine list.
