Irish folk singer Cara Dillon recently announced the release of her next album, “Coming Home”. Scheduled for release in early 2024, this new opus comes after a six-year hiatus since his last album.
This new album is a first for the artist, featuring exclusively original compositions. In a break with her previous works, “Coming Home” blends spoken word and vocals, a new artistic direction for the singer.
The ten-track album evokes Dillon’s very personal memories of her native Derry and the people, places and traditions that have influenced her.
Her label, Charcoal Records, confirms that the album will be accompanied by a booklet of the same name, featuring the artist’s original lyrics and poetry, as well as anecdotes and personal elements added by Cara Dillon herself.
Cara Dillon is already promoting her forthcoming album. For this, she shared the first single from the album, entitled “Clear the Path”.
This piece offers a reflection on the influence of previous generations, addressing the question of our heritage in terms of both character traits and talents.
Prior to the release of the album and book, Dillon will embark on an extensive UK tour this autumn. She will present her new album in a special concert at the Grand Opera House in Belfast, as part of the Belfast International Arts Festival.
