After Conor McGregor’s donation of one million euros, it’s now U2’s turn to show solidarity. The Irish rock band has this week donated 10 million euros to purchase protective equipment for Ireland’s healthcare workers. A powerful gesture, warmly welcomed by both the public and the Irish government.
Donations Multiply in Ireland to Better Combat COVID-19
U2 Shows Support for Their Country
Every bit of help counts… and U2 answered the call. With a 10 million euro donation, Bono and his band aim to support Ireland in its fierce fight against COVID-19. This amount should significantly improve the daily lives of Irish healthcare staff, enabling them to fight the epidemic even more effectively.
The donated funds will be used to supply the country with protective medical equipment, directly sourced from China.
This donation is part of a large-scale initiative led by Irish companies across the country. They hope to gather as many donations as possible to transport new equipment from China to Ireland, including masks, gowns, ventilators, and protective gloves. Their goal is to provide up to 40 tons of equipment to Irish healthcare teams to help end the epidemic. A noble challenge that U2 has proudly supported.
