We knew he was anti-vaccine and prone to conspiracy theories.
But until now, Jim Corr had remained tight-lipped about his vision of COVID-19.
At least until now.
The latter has just sadly illustrated himself on social networks, by publishing a photo of his participation in an anti-mask demonstration in Dublin, Ireland.
The photo caused a real bad buzz, and an altercation with other Irish celebrities… via Twitter.
It’s sad publicity for the Corrs.
The brother of Ireland’s most famous family, Jim Corr, has once again caused a stir by taking to social networks and newspapers to express his views on COVID-19.
And he doesn’t mince his words.
Opposed to wearing masks, opposed to vaccines, he didn’t fail to make his full opposition to the Irish government known…
All this while posting a photo of himself at an anti-mask rally in Dublin.
His stance outraged many Irish people… as well as local celebrities such as pop duo Jedward, known from the Irish version of X-Factor.
The group took Jim Corr to task on Twitter, strongly disputing his comments.
A message Jim Corr couldn’t resist replying to.
The altercation then unfolded over several messages: the tone escalated, with Jim Corr persisting in his comments… and Jeward declaring that Jim is “useless in the group, lost in the middle of his sisters”.
A ping-pong of scathing, aggressive phrases that did nothing for the debate.
A real bad buzz, then, and one that could further damage the Corrs’ reputation.
Speaking exclusively to the Irish Sun, Jim Corr was keen to justify himself a few hours later.
For him, the Irish government is trying to control the public with “extreme measures”.
He promised to continue fighting against “all forms of tyranny”.
I’m no stranger to controversy.
I say what I think when I hear it.
This is not the first time the Irish artist has expressed his belief in conspiracy theories.
Speaking to Brendan O’Connor on RTE’s The Saturday Night Show, he notably rejected the existence of climate disruption.
For him, the climate crisis doesn’t exist.
Jim Corr also believes in the existence of a secret society charged with establishing a one-world government.
He also believes that the US military possesses a secret tectonic weapon that could have been used to cause the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
One thing’s for sure: Jim Corr has not finished surprising us…
