Nothing can stop an Irishman with a thirst! Just look at the remarkable story of Hatfield House, an Irish pub in Belfast, which, instead of closing its doors during lockdown, came up with the idea to serve and deliver fresh pints of Guinness… right to your home!

When an Irish Pub Decides to Bring It to Your Doorstep…

Hatfield House Irish Pub Bets on Local Service… and Goes Viral!

The pub made a splash, and its idea quickly went viral across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland: based in south Belfast, the venue converted one of its trucks into a mobile Irish pub. They installed a beer tap at the back of the truck, a fridge to keep the kegs chilled… and can now serve an Irish beer faster than ever on the move!

Getting a pint is simple: customers just need to reserve their beer the day before via the pub’s website or by phone. The next day, the truck drives around the city and drops off the freshly poured pint right on the customer’s doorstep.

Everything is done under strict health guidelines: social distancing is respected, service is contactless, delivery staff wear latex gloves, the pint is served in a sealable plastic cup, and payment is made online. Customers are asked to pick up their pint only after the delivery driver has left.

“We’re thrilled to offer all our customers the pleasure of a freshly served pint, delivered to their homes during this lockdown. The truck is thoroughly cleaned after every use. Stay safe, stay home, and let us serve you like you’re at the pub… from your own home!” declared Hatfield House.

This fun initiative shows just how resourceful Northern Irish and Irish people can be when it comes to enjoying their favorite drink! One thing’s for sure: the service has been a huge hit since its launch. It seems to brighten the daily lives of Belfast residents by helping them maintain that special connection with the Irish pub, a vital social institution in the country!
