Childhood

Caitríona Balfe was born on October 4, 1979 in Dublin, Ireland. She grew up in Tydavnet (Co. Monaghan) in a large family (6 brothers and sisters). This rural childhood gave him a deep connection with nature and Irish culture.

From an early age, Catriona showed a keen interest in art and performance. She is drawn to the world of show business and theater.

His supportive and encouraging family environment played a crucial role in his personal and professional development.

Modeling debut

In 1999, she joined the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, where she took drama classes. Nevertheless, she was soon spotted by the Assets Model agency in Dublin while taking part in a charity sale. She was then offered a modeling contract. She’s barely 19.

For the agent, her tall, wiry figure and piercing gaze are assets not to be overlooked. He offered to introduce her to the closed world of modeling. From her very first contracts, the young woman stood out and attracted attention.

Shortly afterwards, at the age of 18, she moved to Paris to pursue her modeling career. Her rise in the fashion world was rapid. She works for major fashion houses and well-known brands, walking catwalks and appearing in advertising campaigns around the world.

She models for brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana. She became Narciso Rodriguez’s muse.

Caitriona Balfe’s acting career

She worked in modeling for 10 years before concentrating on her acting career.

In 2019, she stars in “Le Mans 66” to play Mollie Miles, Ken Miles’ wife. She stars alongside Christian Bale and Matt Damon.

In 2020, she is shooting for Kenneth Branagh in “Belfast”, a production that recounts the director’s childhood in 1969, in a Northern Ireland torn apart by conflict.
