Craft Shops in Ireland…

Artisan workshops all over Ireland!

Ireland’s craft workshops are legion! They offer products of exceptional quality, always handmade, from a wide range of sectors, including :

  • clothing (Ireland is renowned for its tweed and Aran wool, from which the famous Irish Sweater is made),
  • pottery (the country is a ceramics enthusiast, whatever the style!)
  • sculptures,
  • paintings,
  • leather working,
  • jewelry,
  • local breweries (Ireland is a country renowned for its beers!)
  • regional gourmet dishes,
  • crystal tableware,
  • or musical instruments made by the finest local luthiers.

These workshops are mainly located in town centers and on the outskirts of villages. The craftsmen and women are friendly and enthusiastic about presenting their products and advising visitors on what to buy. It’s a great way to meet the Irish and discover their culture and know-how up close…

How much does it cost?

An object made by local craftsmen will certainly cost more than an industrial product. On the whole, however, prices are reasonable, and sometimes negotiable with the craftsman himself.

Don’t hesitate to contact him in advance to ask for more information about his productions: it’s often possible to place an order for a specific object, like a musical instrument for example!
