In Ireland, there are some famous but discreet figures who have the unanimous support of the population. Sharon Corr is one of them. Sister of the Corrs, she is best known for her talent on the violin and her singing accompaniment.
The Corrs
Born in Dundalk in 1970, Sharon lives with her brother Jim Corr and her sisters, Caroline Corr and Andrea Corr, in a musical family.
She learned to play the piano at the age of 7 and also took piano lessons.
In 1990, she formed The Corrs with her brother and sister. At first, they played together in local Irish pubs, giving traditional Irish music sessions, and built up a small reputation in the region…
Until they were given the opportunity to release their first album (after sending a demo to an American label): Forgiven Not Forgotten” in 1996. From then on, it was a worldwide success: people were fascinated by this close-knit family group. Their tunes blend pop and Irish influences: perfect for creating an album in tune with the times!
Sharon Corr, though discreet, provides backing vocals and violin accompaniment. Gentle and reserved, she contrasts sharply with Andrea’s more outgoing personality.
As the years went by, the band released more and more albums and toured the world.
But the band soon ran out of steam and each member turned to personal projects.
It was time for Sharon Corr to launch a solo career in parallel.
She then released the albums Dream Of You, The Same Sun (2014) and The Fool and the Scorpion (2021). Both albums feature original compositions that reflect Sharon’s unique style and musical personality.

Sharon Corr has embarked on a world tour to promote her album Dream Of You across Europe, the United States, Japan and China. She also gave a few concerts to promote her album The Same Sun in Paris, Berlin and Moscow.
