Big success for Netflix and Channel 4: the comedy series“Derry Girls“, which follows the adventures of 5 high-school students in Northern Ireland in the 1990s, is currently a runaway success.

Hailed by critics and a convinced public, the series has just received a final reward, a symbol of its success: a permanent mural dedicated to the program will be created on a wall in the city of Derry!

To this end, the characters of Erin, Orla, Clare, Michelle and James will be painted on the Badgers bar in Derry city center. It’s a great achievement for the actors, who have made no secret of their delight on social networks!

The project will be a collaboration between Channel 4’s creative agency and local mural specialists UV Arts. Their aim is to revitalize the image of the city, which was unfortunately scratched again this month by a car bomb attack.

The chance to immortalize these iconic characters in a new mural may give the town a little hope for the future, and make the locals laugh a little. said Karl Ports of UV Arts.

It has to be said that the series has shed a new light on the city: that of humor. A wry, sometimes irreverent sense of humor that deftly contrasts with the terrible events that unfolded in Derry in the 1990s. A skilful series that has already won the hearts of millions of viewers in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the rest of the world!

Season 2 of Derry Girls is already shooting. It will be broadcast in the coming months on Channel 4 and Netflix. A date already eagerly awaited!
