An Irish pub in Ireland has caused a stir with an unusual advert: the establishment is said to be looking for Guinness and Gin testers on the premises. The objective? To ensure that the drinks served are compliant before the official reopening of the Irish pub…
Jobs like this don’t come along very often. And the announcement has already created a buzz on the Web. The Royal Meath Irish Pub in Navan is looking for Guinness and Gin testers. It’s a simple job, controlling the quality of the spirits, the way they’re served… all against a backdrop of anti-Covid-19 protocol.
The advert is currently looking for 10 people. Here’s an overview of the position:
Before we reopen, we’re looking for people who want to make sure our Guinness is up to its usual excellent standard and our new gin range is perfect!
We’re looking for ten people to test our spirits. The evening is free, and we’ll be providing pizzas on the side.
Since the call went out on social networks, the pub has unsurprisingly been inundated with offers from people keen to test their Guinness.
The owner, interviewed in the newspapers said:
We’re very excited about the prospect of reopening, but we won’t be opening until October 1, as we want to make sure everything’s running smoothly. That’s why we’re looking for Guinness and gin connoisseurs to help us make sure that our products are at the same high standard we were offering six months ago before we had to close.
We want to make sure that the building complies with anti-Covid-19 restrictions, but also that the drinks are of the same high standard.
It’s a great initiative, and one that has helped get the word out about Royal Meath! This family-run Irish pub has been around for almost 50 years and is one of the town’s institutions!
The 10 lucky winners of this dream job will be announced this Wednesday. In the meantime, you can apply here: Facebook page!
