Do you love adventure, breathtaking scenery and aren’t afraid of living in a rudimentary way? Then this dream job is for you! Ireland’s Great Blasket Island is currently looking for two goalkeepers for 2024. The advert is looking for a close-knit couple who are not afraid of isolation. They will have to be able to look after the island, while welcoming travelers who come to spend a few days here. To do this, they’ll have to maintain the 4 vacation homes, while running the island’s café… A mouth-watering program that promises an unforgettable experience!

A job that generates over 10,000 applications every year!

Great Blasket Island, a beautiful island, but with no running water or electricity!

The island of Great Blasket, a small corner of Irish paradise, is looking for adventurous souls to run a café and accommodation. Forget the city, the pollution and the stress. Here, on this island, you’ll have the chance to live in a picture-postcard setting, in isolation and silence, far from the hustle and bustle of civilization.

It has to be said that the island is virtually deserted: with its ancient village in ruins, the place is inhabited only by seals and seabirds. As a result, the janitors will be the only people living on site… with the exception of a few travelers wishing to explore the area and occupy one of the island’s 4 vacation homes!

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, will be to welcome visitors with a smile (even in the rain, it’s Ireland after all!), serve perhaps the best tea you’ve ever tasted (or the only one available for miles around), and see to the comfort of the accommodation.

You’ll also have to manage food and water supplies, carry out house maintenance and ensure the well-being of holidaymakers.

What’s more, the couple we’re looking for will have to sleep in a room above the café and speak impeccable English.

On the benefits side, your meals will be fully funded, in addition to your salary. This is an undeniable advantage, allowing you to live on the island without ever having to dip into your wallet!

But beware, conditions can be harsh: be prepared for a life without electricity or running water, sometimes isolated from all human contact. The work, which is sometimes hard, will require excellent physical condition, a good mental attitude and a real taste for effort.

If you’re interested in this position, there are only a few days left to apply (you have until January 18). And already, thousands of CVs are piling up in the mailboxes of the owners of the houses and cafe who placed the ad. Billy O’Connor and Alice Hayes, who own the site, have already received almost 10,000 applications for 2024!

Hurry: you could be the chosen one for this new year!
