In Ireland, there is a small discipline practiced by many Irish people. This is the “Pub crawl”. This expression can be translated as “crawling from bar to bar”. In other words: pub crawls. A cool, fun activity to do with friends (but watch out for excess! Stay in moderation.).
Needless to say, Ireland is the home of pubs, bars and other festive places where you can spend an evening with friends. That’s why there are sometimes phenomena in certain cities, where groups of friends skim several pubs on the same street. This is particularly true of Temple Bar in Dublin, or The Latin Quarter in Galway.
The idea is simple: go and have a drink in each establishment, and enjoy the atmosphere. The locals are used to it (especially the youngsters), but travellers with a taste for parties have also taken to it!
The Pub crawl is above all an opportunity to treat yourself to a rather fast-paced evening: skip it if you’d rather sit back and relax in one place… because this kind of concept is all about dynamism and constant discovery. And it has to be said that the concept is pretty cool: it allows you to try out the atmosphere of several pubs in a short space of time: old school, traditional, or more modern establishments!
But beware: this type of activity can sometimes lead to risky behavior. Some come out totally drunk, and we recommend moderation and non-alcoholic beverages. It’s the perfect way to extend your evening into the night!
Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health. Drink in moderation.
