A few extra euros for access to a dedicated security queue: that is the principle behind Dublin Airport’s Fast Track service. In an announcement published on 30 September 2026, the airport highlighted its new facilities in Terminals 1 and 2, developed with its partner Grant Thornton. For travellers, the service remains a paid option, with prices starting from €7.99 per person. Here is what it actually offers before a flight departing from Dublin.
New Fast Track areas in both Dublin terminals
An existing service with improved facilities
The new element is the facilities: Fast Track was already available at Dublin. The 30 September announcement presents the new areas in both terminals, without establishing a single opening date for all the improvements. Upgrades to Terminal 2 had, moreover, already been reported previously.
The principle remains straightforward: passengers who have purchased access use a dedicated queue for security screening. They are still subject to the usual checks. The ticket does not replace airline check-in or checked baggage drop-off.
How much does Fast Track cost at Dublin Airport?
Prices from €7.99, varying by departure
The advertised price starts from €7.99 per person. It varies according to the date, time and terminal: the amount shown when you make your booking is the one that applies to your journey. It is therefore not a fixed fee applicable to all flights.
Bookings can be made on the official website or via the Dublin Airport app. The airport also provides for purchases at departure-area kiosks or at the Fast Track entrance. However, sales may be suspended once available capacity has been reached. It is best to check availability for your time slot before relying on it.
How do you use Fast Track access?
Choose the right terminal and a security time slot
According to information published by the airport on 30 September, Fast Track operates from 4am to 9pm in Terminal 1 and from 4am to 6pm in Terminal 2. In Terminal 1, the entrance is in Departures, on Level 3, on the mezzanine. In Terminal 2, it is in Departures, on Level 2, before security. Check the times available for your travel date.
The booked time slot is for entering the security screening area, not your departure time. The official FAQ allows arrival up to thirty minutes before or after the selected time. If you need to check a suitcase, allow for this step first in your schedule.
The service applies only to departures from Dublin: it does not provide priority on arrival. Some airlines include access with their premium tickets or loyalty benefits. Check your booking before paying extra.
Does Fast Track really save time?
A comfort option, with no guarantee of making up for a delay
A dedicated queue can be useful when departures are busy. However, the service terms do not guarantee either that this queue will always be faster than the general queue or that the passenger will reach their flight on time. Security screening continues to be managed by security staff according to operational needs at the time.
To decide, compare the total cost for your group with the time you have available and the value you place on this access. The extra charge may provide greater comfort; it does not justify reducing the time recommended by your airline. After security, you still need to reach the gate and meet the boarding deadline.
