South of Dublin city centre, the RDS takes on the air of a winter village. Everwinter brings together a Christmas market, an indoor ice rink, a circus and a fairground in one location in Ballsbridge. It is an outing to shape around your own interests, with Irish-made goods, shows and opportunities to stop for something to eat.

Everwinter: a Christmas event in Dublin

A winter village at the RDS

Held at the RDS Showgrounds, Everwinter brings together several seasonal experiences for families, couples and groups of friends. The market features Irish makers, while music, food and fairground attractions add to the festive atmosphere.

The event is produced by Equinox Events, the team also behind Taste of Dublin. For the 2026 edition, the full site welcomes visitors before Christmas; after the festive period, only the ice rink reopens until early January.

What can you do at Everwinter?

Skate, discover the circus and explore the market

The Mastercard Ice Rink is an indoor rink where you can book a skating session. Skates are provided. The organiser provides details of age requirements and skating aids for younger children.

Under its traditional big top, Robert Fossett’s Christmas Circus presents a family show with no animals. The fairground area adds a Ferris wheel and vintage-inspired rides to the experience.

The Christmas market is a chance to discover creations and goods sold by Irish craftspeople. Between the stalls, the food areas and music offer an opportunity to extend your visit at a leisurely pace.

Everwinter after Christmas

The ice rink reopens on its own

The market, circus and fairground close before Christmas. The ice rink then reopens for a few days: this is worth bearing in mind if you are planning an outing between Christmas and New Year, as the full village will no longer be accessible.

The activities do not necessarily operate at the same times. Before setting off, check your chosen time slot, any exceptional opening hours and ticket availability on the official Everwinter website.

How do you get to Everwinter?

Getting to Ballsbridge by public transport

Everwinter is held at the RDS, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, in the Ballsbridge area. The DART stations at Lansdowne Road and Sandymount are nearby. The organiser states that no event parking is available; accessible spaces are reserved for visitors who need them.

The site states that there is step-free access, an accessible ice rink and facilities for attending the circus. Specific arrangements and bookings are detailed on its official website.
