Grey’s Anatomy: a new Irish doctor joins the show!
Meredith Grey et le docteur Cormac Hayes

Fans of the medical series Grey’s Anatomy will be delighted: a new doctor has just arrived at Grey Sloan Memorial… An Irish doctor by the name of Dr. Cormac Hayes, also known as McWidow. Rather endearing and likeable at first glance, he’s already made quite an impression on the show’s viewers!

Played by actor Richard Flood (a 37-year-old Dubliner), he looks set to play a key role in future episodes of the series. And with good reason!

Spoiler alert!

The arrival of this new doctor is due to Meredith’s best friend, Cristina. The latter would have “sent” her Cormac Hayes, a brilliant doctor who was supposed to fill the position of new head of pediatric surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. (The latter will replace Alex Carev)

Before long, the doctor arrives in Seattle and meets Meredith and the team. Charismatic and talented, he turns out to be a widower (earning him the nickname McWidow from the rest of the medical team), passionate and highly committed to his work.

The script already seems to announce the color: this Irish doctor could well develop a love affair with Meredith Grey! The 2 characters in the ABC series already seem to be circling each other.

For the moment, we’re in the early stages. But one thing’s for sure: future episodes of Grey’s Anatomy are likely to take on an Irish color!

Stay tuned! New episodes of the series are expected in January. So you’ll have to wait a few weeks before you can discover this new Irish character, and his impact on the Grey’s Anatomy storyline.
