Ireland is preparing for a return to normality with the reopening of its Irish pubs on June 7. And to mark the occasion, the Guinness brewery decided to work twice as hard to supply the establishments with its legendary beer. The group has revealed that they are currently brewing up to 5 million extra pints at their St Jame’s Gate brewery in Dublin. The aim: to meet potentially higher-than-usual demand.

After months of closure, Irish pubs are coming back to life

Guinness supplies pubs with kegs and safety equipment

Ireland’s Irish pubs have been out of business for over a year now. More than a year of inactivity, even though these establishments are considered the social and cultural lungs of the country!

It’s easy to imagine, then, that the onslaught will begin on June 7. Every Irishman plans to be at the Pub on this date, toasting and chatting with friends, just like in the good old days, when Covid-19 didn’t exist.

Faced with this reopening, Guinness tried to help pub owners cope with the massive influx of potential customers in complete safety… The brewery has provided financial assistance to the most disadvantaged pubs (around 5,000 throughout the country), and helped to equip them with essential sanitary facilities, enabling them to comply with standards and welcome customers in complete safety from June onwards.

Equipment, masks and 125,000 liters of hydroalcoholic gel were distributed throughout Ireland by the Diageo Group. Waiters have also been offered training in health safety, and some Irish pubs have even received help with the construction of outdoor terraces.

Added to this, of course, is the production of millions more liters of Guinness. Let’s not forget that this beer is one of Ireland’s favorite beverages… and the brewery, in addition to being philanthropic, is hoping to kill two birds with one stone by massively selling its dark beer!

The reopening is therefore eagerly awaited in Ireland. The pubs are getting ready, the counters are being polished and the final details are being ironed out. One thing’s for sure: this reopening will do wonders for Irish morale… and that of foreign travellers too!
