Is Guinness better in Ireland than elsewhere? This is the conclusion of a study by four scientists, who traveled to 14 countries to taste 103 samples of Guinness beer. The results are clear: they concluded that the famous Irish beer tastes better in Ireland, where it is produced, than in the other foreign countries to which it is exported.
To reach these conclusions, the scientists visited 71 establishments serving Guinness in 33 different cities in 14 countries. As the tastings progressed, it became clear that Guinness is above all a beer that doesn’t travel well: it therefore preserves all its gustatory qualities as long as it is drunk directly in Ireland, in its country of origin.
