What if the October half-term break took you to where Halloween has its roots? Brittany Ferries is offering a break to discover the Púca Festival 2026, held from 29 October to 1 November in Trim and Athboy, County Meath. It is a getaway that gives autumn evenings an altogether different feel: spirits from Irish folklore, fire performances and illuminated medieval stonework.
A Halloween break in Ireland with Brittany Ferries
Seven nights in Dublin and a ferry crossing with your car
The package combines seven nights at the 4-star Staycity Aparthotel in Dublin with a return Cherbourg–Rosslare crossing. It includes a standard car measuring up to 5 metres long and 1.83 metres high, along with an inside cabin for four people.
Prices start from €674 per adult and €398 per child, based on two adults and two children aged 4 to 15. The example is based on a departure at 3.01 pm on 27 October and a return at 7 pm on 4 November. The offer is valid from 27 October to 5 November 2026, subject to availability. Please note: this fare was quoted by the carrier on 29 June 2026; your up-to-date quote remains the reference.
The Púca Festival transforms nights in County Meath
Music, folklore and performances celebrating Samhain
The festival celebrates Samhain, the Irish tradition associated with Halloween. In Trim, the castle becomes the backdrop for audiovisual projections. The Púca Procession also brings folklore-inspired characters through the streets to the beat of music and drums. In Athboy, the lighting of the Samhain fire is scheduled for 31 October.
The music line-up includes The Coronas, The Waterboys and Hothouse Flowers. Markets, tours and workshops extend the experience during the day before the evening entertainment begins.
Several events are free, including the procession, the castle projections and the Pyro Collective performances. Others require a ticket. Check the official Púca Festival programme before choosing your evenings: some performances are for adults only, and admission conditions vary by event.

The Púca package already includes a discount of up to 30% on the sea crossing. Ask for this to be confirmed in your quote.
How should you prepare for your festival getaway?
Plan your travel and tickets ahead
Accommodation is in Dublin, while the events take place in Trim and Athboy. Plan for travel between your apartment and the festival venues, especially for getting back after an evening event. Before you leave, also check the parking options and transport arrangements announced for each event.
To request a quote for the break, Brittany Ferries gives the following number: 02 98 244 701. Ask for details of what is included, any festival tickets that may be included, and any supplements. If booking by phone, also mention the Guide-Irlande.com partnership.
As the evening events are partly outdoors, pack warm clothes, a waterproof jacket and suitable shoes. A costume can wait; staying dry while enjoying the show deserves space in your suitcase.
