It’s official: Ireland should be able to welcome its first European travelers in mid-July. The decision-makers of the European Union have been working together and have finally reached an agreement, to homogenize their policy on the acceptance of a health passport. And the result is in: Ireland should be able to welcome passengers by mid-July!
The only condition: each traveler must present this famous health pass to be admitted to Ireland. This passport (in digital or paper format) must attest to one of the following scenarios:
Presentation of this pass will enable travelers to discover Ireland as they please, without having to go through a quarantine system.
According to the Irish newspaper “The Irish Times”, this new system will require a great deal of organization. Ireland will need no less than 6 weeks to prepare to welcome its travelers.
It should be noted, however, that the Irish government wishes to be cautious, and may change its rules if the pandemic evolves. So, in the event of a resurgence of the virus, Ireland retains the right to redefine its entry conditions. So be careful before booking a trip to Ireland: acceptance conditions can fluctuate depending on the situation.
