This time it’s the real deal! More than three thousand Irish pubs in Ireland are set to open their doors today. Another step forward, as the whole of Ireland prepares to return to normality, after more than 3 months of forced confinement.
The June 29 date was eagerly awaited by industry players. And many Irish pubs are set to reopen on Monday. But be warned: unfortunately, not everyone will be affected by this reopening. A restriction still exists, and only Irish pubs that also offer food will be allowed to welcome the public this Monday.
A measure justified by the government: for them, only Irish pubs that also offer catering should be able to provide effective distancing measures for the time being.
The remaining pubs (estimated at 4,000) will have to wait for another phase of deconfinement, scheduled for around July 20.
Despite these restrictions, the government estimates that around 40% of Irish pubs in Ireland will be able to reopen on Monday. This is good news for the Irish, who are very attached to the Irish pub in general.
For them, it’s a unique place, a real institution, where you can meet, talk and have a good time. In short, it’s enough to put a smile on the faces of the population, who until now had been obliged to live in confinement without the conviviality of a good Irish pub!
