Accidents do happen… But the inhabitants of the small village of Dunquin never thought they’d come across such an unusual incident.
A young driver on his way to Dunquin in County Kerry, Ireland, reportedly missed a one-way sign, took a footpath only allowed to pedestrians, and got stuck on the narrow slope of Dunquin harbour.
This very famous little port saw a car block its entire passageway, creating a buzz on Facebook.
However, the questions remain: how did this young driver manage to take this road, which is closed to cars? After investigation, it would appear that the concrete bollards used to restrict access were installed too wide, allowing a car to pass despite the ban.
In any case, the driver (said to be Irish and not a tourist) had a good scare, and has been credited with becoming a posterity on the Web’s social networks! As for the village, it intends to reinforce the road signs to avoid another accident…
