According to the Global Peace Index, Ireland is one of the top 3 safest countries on the planet. A place where it would be good to live and travel, without fear for your safety. The study is based on a precise rating system, which assesses the level of crime, violence and corruption in each country. Ireland is ranked N°3 for 2023, confirming just how unspoilt and deeply human Ireland is.
Just a few months after being crowned the safest country for women traveling solo, Ireland receives further accolades for safety. This recognition comes this time from the prestigious Global Peace Index, a respected index that assesses world peace based on various criteria such as social security, degree of conflict and degree of militarization.
And the figures speak for themselves: with an impressive score of 1.312, Ireland comes third in the overall ranking, just behind Nordic countries renowned for their quality of life, Iceland and Denmark. This score highlights Ireland’s low crime rate, as well as the general level of safety that prevails in the country.
It is interesting to note, however, that Ireland has fallen back slightly on the previous year, when it ranked second. Although this represents a slight step backwards, it in no way affects the very essence of what makes Ireland such a special country. The Irish art of living, characterized by mutual respect, conviviality and a strong human dimension, remains intact.
