Each month, the press agency publishes a ranking of the most resilient countries in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. And this month, Ireland leads the way, ranking number 1 in the world among the most resilient countries in the face of the coronavirus. A great success for a country that has come a long way…

Bloomberg news agency hails Irish success against Covid-19

Despite its setbacks at the start of 2021, Ireland has turned its fortunes around.

Every month, countries around the world take a close look at the Bloomberg rankings. The latter publishes the results of a rather complex study: it measures the indicators of over 53 countries (the world’s largest economies), to judge which nation is doing best in its fight against the coronavirus.

And the good news is that Ireland comes out on top at the end of September (while France comes in 7th). A consecration for the Irish government and people.

It’s a testament to the hard work of our carers and the Irish people. said Micheál Martin, the Irish Prime Minister. According to the Bloomberg news agency, Ireland is now the most resilient country in the world in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The figures speak for themselves: over 91% of the population (aged 16 and over) is fully vaccinated. Coronavirus-related deaths are down, and most anti-covid restrictions have been lifted. International travel is now widely authorized, and the health pass is in force, making economic and social exchanges more fluid.

All indicators are therefore in the green, with a gradual return to normal.

It’s a real tour de force for Ireland, which had already gone downhill in January 2021. The festive season had in fact caused a veritable epidemic outbreak, prompting the government to re-confine Ireland from December 25…

A tough strategy, urging Irish people to stay at home, telecommute and travel within a limited area. Irish pubs, cafés, bars and restaurants saw their takeovers jeopardized… and were forced to close. Since then, the country had distinguished itself as Europe’s strictest nation when it came to managing the Covid-19 crisis.

It would appear that the strategy has paid off.

After months of forced confinement and intensive vaccination strategy, Ireland is now at the top of the podium: the island is now the world’s best pupil in this field.

As a result, hotels, museums, pubs and restaurants have been reopening since July. Travel is up, and air traffic is rebounding sharply. The Irish are in good spirits again, and the prospect of a way out of the crisis seems imminent.

According to the Bloomberg news agency, Ireland has learned from its past failures to bounce back… And the future looks bright from every point of view. Tourism, for its part, will be one of the big winners in this battle: travel is up sharply, and tourism players will finally be able to get back to business… even if past sacrifices have been abysmal.
