The week is likely to be disrupted by two storms in Ireland, named Dudley and Eunice. The first, Dudley, is due to make landfall this Wednesday lunchtime, bringing violent winds with gusts of up to 110km/h… before giving way to storm Eunice this Thursday.

But concerns are focused on the second storm, Eunice, which is expected to appear by Thursday. It is considered potentially dangerous, combining strong winds and tides, which could create flooding near the coast.
The storm is expected to last at least 48 hours and will bring the worst weather of the week, moving progressively eastwards across the island.
The Irish Meteorological Services describe its potential as a “multi-hazard event with damaging winds, heavy rain and possible snow”.
The southern counties will undoubtedly be the hardest hit. Heavy snowfalls are also expected in the center and north of the country, with blizzard conditions possible. Travel disruption is expected.
The Irish government’s Crisis Management Team, which coordinates emergency response, met on Tuesday to prepare for both storms. They will be liaising with the meteorological services over the coming week.
