The world’s largest offshore wind farm officially started operations on Thursday, September 6. This massive farm is located at Walney, between England and Northern Ireland.

Designed to power over 600,000 English homes, it features 87 turbines spread across an area nearly the size of Paris!

Installed out at sea, these turbines harness the strength of the wind to generate sustainable and responsible energy.

This colossal project required enormous resources: 3,000 kilometers of underwater cables, thousands of workers, and has been expertly managed since 2011 by the Danish company Ørsted and the German firm Siemens. And it was delivered right on schedule!

These eco-friendly energy sources mark another step toward sustainable power. This British initiative could well inspire Ireland to follow suit, tapping into its natural resources in an optimal and autonomous way!
