The documentary looks at the remarkable career of Allessia Zecchini, a young Italian woman ready to do anything to set a world record in freediving. In parallel, we follow Stephen Keenan, a young Irishman from Dublin. Initially in search of his own path, he made a series of trips to Africa, before landing in Egypt, where he discovered freediving.
For the young Irishman, it was a revelation: a passion that would never leave him, and that would transform his life forever.
He went on to break several Irish records, then decided to convert to freediving as a safety diver, after an agonizing syncope.
His mission is a perilous one: he must ensure the safety of freedivers aiming to reach record depths in excess of 100 metres!
That’s when he meets Allessia… It was love at first sight. In their quest to surpass themselves, they decide to tackle the Blue Hole, a marine arch considered the grail of all freedivers.
But on this day, July 22, 2017, the adventure turned tragic, threatening the lives of both freedivers…
