Fans will be delighted to learn that the second season of Game of Thrones hit our screens a few weeks ago. A new opportunity to plunge into the heart of this breathtaking story, and admire the beauty of the landscape!

The series is set in Northern Ireland, where Tyrion, Catelyn, Ned, Lord Tywin and King Robert strive to cross the darkest mountains and forests!

The series takes full advantage of Northern Ireland’s beauty, devoting many shots to ruined castles, the wild coastline and the country’s impressive mountains! A charming asset, bringing authenticity and a palpable atmosphere to the series!

To mark the occasion, Northern Ireland has organized 3 events to delight Game Thrones fans:

  • don’t miss an interactive exhibition dedicated to the series in June 2013! The event will take place in Belfast and will feature countless costumes and objects from seasons 1 and 2. The icing on the cake: you can even admire and sit on a life-size replica of the famous Iron Throne!
  • From June 8 to 27, you can also visit the Belfast Titanic Experience, a magnificent exhibition also dedicated to the series! The program includes making-of, costumes, cut scenes and anecdotes to enhance your visit! Registration is free, but you must register on the event website from May 17.
  • For visitors with a car, the Belfast Tourist Office offers a tour that allows you to follow in the footsteps of the series! You’ll have the chance to discover Shane Castle, Ward Castle, the Glens of Antrim…etc!
