Pierce Brosnan et Helena Bonham Carter vont jouer dans un film irlandais : Four Letters of Love

The film scene in Ireland is particularly rich! And now it’s the turn of Irish actor Pierce Brosnan to embark on a brand new project to be filmed in Ireland: Four Letters of Love. He will star alongside the talented Helena Bonham Carter and Gabriel Byrne. The film will be shot in County Donegal and Northern Ireland.

Four Letters of Love, a promising Irish romance

A 5-star cast, for a story of great depth

Based on Niall Williams’ best-selling novel of the same name, Four Letters of Love tells the story of the thwarted love of two young Irishmen, who are at once united and separated by everything.

Directed by Polly Steele (Let me go), the pairing of Fionn O’Shea (Normal People) and Ann Skelly (The Nevers) promises a sensitive story.

Pierce Brosnan and Helena Bonham Carter will play the young lovers’ parents.

The synopsis of the film is as follows:

Nicholas and Isabel were made for each other, but would they ever know? While ghosts, fate and the absolute power of true love bring them together, life also threatens to tear them apart.

It’s a “lyrical love story” set in Dublin and on an island off the west coast of Ireland. For the purposes of filming, however, scenes will be shot in the Donegal region as well as in Northern Ireland… A change that should nonetheless allow us to enjoy some magnificent Irish scenery!

The film project is already creating a stir, with its prestigious cast alone. It’s a chance for Pierce Brosnan to play at home in his native land, and to take part in the adaptation of a novel from Irish literature. It’s not the first time he’s committed himself to films of this calibre (Evelyn…etc).

What’s more, this new film is part of a flamboyant period for Irish cinema. A number of films are currently enjoying great success, some of which have won awards as far afield as Hollywood: starting with The Banshees of Inisherin, An Cailín Ciúin and An Irish Goodbye.

So keep your fingers crossed that Four Letters of Love follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, and lands multiple nominations for its theatrical release!
