Irish actor Pierce Brosnan looks set to shoot the sequel to the musical Mamma Mia. A sequel is currently under discussion, although nothing is official yet!
It happened on Monday, when Pierce Brosnan was a guest on Kelly Clarkson’s talk show. The latter is said to be more than willing to shoot yet another Mamma Mia! sequel, the first 2 opuses having been a real pleasure to experience for the actor!
The actor, who hails from Navan in County Meath, is said to be ready for a new whirlwind, as shooting the first two Mamma Mia! films was “a joy from start to finish”.
Pierce played Sam Carmichael, an old love of Meryl Streep’s character. But the film was first and foremost a musical, a real tribute to the Swedish supergroup Abba, where the actors had to cover their greatest hits!
I was nervous. I was terrified. I’d never sung in a film before. Pierce told Kelly. This movie really changed the game, and it’s easy to fall in love with Meryl and easy to fall in love with all the cast members.
As for a future part three, Pierce Brosnan was rather open:
Then maybe Mamma Mia! 3. They talk about it,” revealed Pierce Brosnan.
And indeed, Deadline.com reported on Monday that Judy Craymer, the creator of both the play and the films, would like to repeat the experience, creating a third installment to the saga. Enchanting fans of the early days!
