It’s official: Ryanair is relocating to Belfast and will resume its air services. As a reminder, the low-cost airline announced last year that it was withdrawing from the airport, citing concerns about air passenger rights (APD). Ryanair has announced its return to Belfast International Airport, with 12 new routes!

Ryanair reinvests in Belfast airport

Nearly 115 flights a week, available from summer 2023

The announcement caused quite a stir among travellers and Northern Irelanders alike: Ryanair is relaunching its operations at Belfast airport! New routes are proposed, and will help to diversify the existing offer. New destinations include :

  • Alicante,
  • Faro,
  • Barcelona,
  • Girona,
  • Milan,
  • Bergamo,
  • Malaga,
  • domestic routes for the East Midlands,
  • Edinburgh,
  • London Stansted
  • and Manchester.

Ryanair Commercial Director Jason McGuinness said:

At a time when other airlines are cutting back on schedules and staff, we’re delighted to announce a new Ryanair base at Belfast International Airport with 12 exciting routes. We are delighted to have reached a long-term agreement with the management of Belfast International, which will support Ryanair’s future growth at the airport over the coming years.

This new offer will be operational next summer. This is good news, as it will make it even easier than before for travellers to connect Belfast with other European destinations.

All we have to do now is wait for the launch of these new flights!
