The film The Banshee of Inisherin inspired millions of people to visit Ireland. And among them is Taylor Swift! After all, the singer didn’t fail to express her appreciation for the film. In a tweet from 2022, she even shared her disappointment when she learned that the film’s Irish pub didn’t actually exist. But now the reality is quite different! The establishment, known as “Mee’s Bar”, has been recreated from scratch as a real pub in Kilkerrin, County Galway… And the owner has every intention of welcoming Taylor Swift!
It’s a multi-award-winning film. The Banshees of Inisherin, starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, literally enchanted audiences with its unusual story and fabulous scenery, set in the heart of the wild Irish islands.
And it’s clear that this raw beauty has inspired many travellers to visit the filming locations! Among them was Taylor Swift, who made it known that she’d like to come and have a pint in the film’s pub!
And now it seems possible, as Luke Mee, an Irishman with a head for ideas, has been inspired to recreate the Irish pub from the feature film, and turn it into a real establishment!
As soon as it opened, he was quick to invite Taylor Swift, via social networks, to come and “have a free pint”. The invitation was well received by the singer, as it was relayed by one of her friends: Niall Horan himself!
We’ll just have to wait and see if the American beauty takes up the invitation.
