Every year, Dublin redoubles its efforts and inventiveness to adorn its streets with fabulous Christmas decorations. And this year, 2023, the capital is no exception to the rule! Nearly 25 streets have just been decked out with garlands and other magical lights. One of these is Grafton Street, one of Dublin’s most popular thoroughfares. And the result is striking: the luminous decorations are already immersing the street in a fairytale atmosphere. Enough to make you want to celebrate Christmas in Dublin!

Dublin goes all out for Christmas

A show for the whole family!

Christmas is no joke in Ireland! And every year, Dublin makes a point of celebrating the event by pulling out all the stops! The decorations are everywhere: on the walls, above our heads, and in the windows of the city’s major stores and boutiques… a perfect way to dive headfirst into the festive spirit!

Wherever you look, the show is complete. It’s easy to get caught up in the magic of Christmas… even if it’s only a few weeks away!

And this year, hostilities have just begun! Last night, Dubliners gathered outside the famous Bewley’s café to witness the illumination of Grafton Street, one of Dublin’s most important pedestrian thoroughfares.

And the show is simply amazing! The street was lit up with 15 large chandeliers stretching the length of the street. Add to this the already-decorated window displays, and the picture is complete!

These low-energy lighting decorations will grace the streets of Dublin until January, immersing the Irish capital in a unique atmosphere.

Over 13 million visitors are expected to visit Dublin over the festive period.

The lights were installed by a 30-strong team working night and day for four weeks.

Two children, Willow Mae Carroll and Cian Byrne, from families supported by the charity Little Blue Heroes, had the honor of switching on the lights, providing an unforgettable experience for them and their families.

There’s no doubt that Christmas 2023 will be unforgettable for anyone celebrating it here in Dublin!
