Although more expensive, university accommodation is ideal if you like independence. Another advantage is that they are offered by Irish universities, which makes the process easier for expatriate students, who don’t have to bother with prospecting.

If you’re studying languages, don’t hesitate to opt for the “host family” option. This allows you to immerse yourself in everyday Irish life and make contact with real Irish people, while still having room and board (for breakfast and dinner).
However, this formula is not without its constraints, and the family is likely to ask you to take part in domestic chores or baby-sitting. However, this is the least expensive solution for students!
