What if you were to discover Ireland in a different way, to the rhythm of a horse’s hooves and the authentic charm of a caravan? Of course, adventure is possible, and you’ll enjoy a quiet, peaceful trip where you’ll discover Ireland from a completely different angle!

Ireland by caravan: more than just a trip!

A trip off the beaten track!

A holiday in a caravan is far from being a trip like any other… This one takes time, and a completely different rhythm… Travelling by caravan guarantees a trip that combines comfort and mobility: a fun, eco-friendly way to discover the Irish countryside, without the hassle of hotels or B&Bs!

Many Irish pubs, youth hostels, hotels and other establishments have special facilities for caravans. (with access to water and feed for the horse…etc.).

Typically, a standard trailer has :

  • with 4 to 5 berths,
  • sink,
  • stove,
  • kitchen utensils
  • table and chairs
  • storage space
  • interior lighting

A few constraints

Travelling in a caravan requires a minimum investment: starting with maintenance. You’ll need to spend time with your horse, feeding, grooming and girthing him properly…

The same goes for driving a caravan: the companies offering this type of holiday will introduce you to the different ways of driving your vehicle before you leave. The driving itself is easy, but requires a minimum of know-how and caution…

A caravan is a rather unusual means of transport, and you won’t be able to drive at night (caravans aren’t equipped with lights), or on busy roads that aren’t suitable for this type of trailer…
