Are you planning to fly, but are a little confused about the size and weight of your luggage? Don’t panic, here’s a summary of the main pre-requisites to ensure that your suitcases pass through without a hitch! Please note that our advice below is intended to be general in nature. Do not hesitate to consult your airline to ensure that your baggage complies with their regulations. Baggage information is often listed on your ticket, or on each airline’s website.

What size and weight for my suitcase?

Different instructions apply to cabin and hold baggage…

Each airline has its own rules, but we can observe a standardization of baggage requirements, whatever the airline.

  • Cabin luggage: maximum weight 10kgs. Their dimensions must not exceed 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm. Some airlines will check them before boarding. Additional/oversized carry-on baggage may be refused, or require an additional fee to board (fees are prohibitive). If you’re not sure, don’t hesitate to go to the baggage drop-off counter before going through security. Please note that handbags must be stowed in your carry-on bag, as some airlines charge additional fees.
  • Hold baggage: maximum weight 20kgs. Dimensions must not exceed 150cm x 150cm x 150cm, and contents must comply with each company’s safety regulations.
