The ferry service already existed in Dublin, but was discontinued in 1984. Since that day, no cab boats had been set up to enable Dubliners and tourists to move efficiently from one bank to the other.

The problem has now been solved: since February 2019, the N°11 ferry, soberly named “Liffey Ferry” offers to connect 3 points on the Liffey:

  • 3Arena
  • Sir John Rogerson’s wharf
  • and MV Cill Airne (North Wall Quay)

All for €2 a trip aboard a small 18-person capacity boat. Allow 3/4 minutes maximum to reach your destination. Connections are available Monday to Friday, from 7am to 7pm.

Don’t hesitate to give it a try: it’s a fun change from the bus!
