CityJet is an Irish airline belonging to the Air France-KLM group. Based at numerous European airports, CityJet connects most of Europe’s major cities, at costs equivalent to those charged by Air France. On the program: fair prices for quality services…
CityJet was founded in 1994, in offices in the Irish town of Swords. CityJet soon became the official subsidiary of the Air France-KLM group, and its aircraft were decked out in the French airline’s colors. CityJet then became the owner of the Belgian subsidiary VLM airlines, on behalf of Air France, and operates at a number of European airports.
CityJet is also the main operator of the London City network, providing passengers with 21 aircraft in CityJet’s livery for unloading at up to 13 European destinations, including Amsterdam (Netherlands), Antwerp (Belgium), Brive (France), Deauville (France), Dublin (Ireland), Dundee (UK), Edinburgh (UK), Eindhoven (Netherlands), Jersey (Jersey), Luxembourg (Luxembourg), Nantes (France), Paris-Orly (France) and Rotterdam (Netherlands).
CityJet is mainly based at Dublin International Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. So be prepared for the possibility of having to travel to these airports to fly with CityJet (the TGV is a good alternative if you live outside Paris).
Don’t hesitate to book your tickets in advance either: CityJet doesn’t offer low-cost flights, and it’s advisable to book as early as possible to avoid paying too much. Also, avoid vacation periods and weekends for travel: the fare will be noticeably higher.
Finally, don’t hesitate to travel light: checked baggage can be expensive, depending on the weight and size of your bags. There is also an additional charge for any musical instrument to be transported outside the hold.
