Unusual accommodation: why not sleep in George Best’s house?
George Best - Andy Welsh - cc

George Best (1946-2005) was a soccer legend from the 1960s onwards. The internationally-renowned Northern Irish footballer grew up in a house in south-east Belfast. And now the house is available for tourists to visit or stay overnight!

Cost €76 for a visit, and €160 to stay in the former footballer’s house.

On the agenda: top-quality hotel services and rather unusual accommodation, including a small museum dedicated to George Best, and a very ’70s decor!

Landmark East bought the house in 2008 for €128,000, turning it into a new tourist attraction. The funds raised will then be reinvested in renovation projects for the East Belfast neighborhoods.

It’s a lovely way to bring back to life this soccer legend, who left his mark on several generations…
