Are you familiar with the Vikings series? This successful series completed its first season this year, to great critical acclaim. Realistic and well-crafted, this Irish-Canadian series was filmed in Ireland at Ashford Studios4, Ballyhenry Studios7 and Luggala, in the heart of County Wicklow.
All the more reason to enjoy some magnificent, exceptional scenery!
But the Vikings series isn’t the first to use Ireland’s sumptuous settings: Game of Throne (The Iron Throne) has also used many of Northern Ireland’s landscapes to tell the story of its characters. It’s hard to believe that writers and producers can’t get enough of the great Irish wilderness!
Let’s hope that the next season of Vikings will tackle the subject of the Viking Invasions in Ireland: it’s sure to capture our attention even more!
