County Roscommon

County Roscommon is located in the province of Connacht, in the mid-west of Ireland. The county is crossed by the River Shannon and is home to many medieval historical sites. Irish mythology is also present, with the archaeological site of Crúachan, where the rulers of Connaught resided, such as King Ailill Mac Máta and his wife Medb.
