One of these, known as the “Watergate”, offers a breathtaking view of the east of the city from its summit, overlooking the banks of Enniskillen. An ideal angle for keeping an eye on the surrounding area!
You can climb up to the top, and enjoy the view through the many loopholes and windows.
The visit is rather pleasant: the castle itself has been converted into 2 separate museums. One is devoted to regional archaeology, with exhibits on the history of County Fermanagh and the archaeological discoveries made… The other museum is dedicated to Enniskillen’s military past.
