A pudgy little dolmen lost in the Northern Irish countryside

The Slidderyford Dolmen dates back to the Neolithic period, and consists of a slightly squat upper table supported by 4 smaller megaliths set vertically into the earth.

Access to the site is free, and relatively unknown to tourists. But the Slidderyford Dolmen is well worth a visit! It would have served as a place of sacrifice and burial for influential men and women of the time. Bones, carved stones and pieces of pottery were also found on the ground around the dolmen.

Today, the site is intact, and access is free. A lovely site if you happen to be in the area!
