Tibradden is a prehistoric cairn and burial site at the foot of Tibradden Mountain in County Dublin. Quite nice to look at, it’s one of the most beautiful cairns in the county. A must-see!

Tibradden – Rob Hurson – cc
Tibradden lies to the north of the Tibradden mountain range.
It takes the form of an open circular chamber, 3 meters in diameter, with a narrow corridor running through it. In the center is an engraved stone with a beautiful spiral motif!
The site was once a cairn, now devoid of any covering. The site was excavated in 1849 by members of the Royal Irish Academy. They found pottery, human bones and evidence of cremation. These objects are now on display at the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin. According to researchers, the cairn may have served as a tomb for someone called Bródáin (or Tibradden), but speculation is rife.
