Want to go back in time? How about a visit to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, a folk park that takes you back 100 years to discover what life was like in Ireland at the time… Houses, farms, schools, shops, modes of transport… You’ll be immersed in an almost-forgotten era, and discover the peasant life of a century ago!

A park to go back in time…

Similar to the Bunratty Folk Park, the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum takes you on a journey of discovery through recent Irish history, as you stroll through a fully reconstructed 19th-century village, where you’ll come across period dwellings, farm machinery and modes of transport.

A number of actors, dressed in period costume, will be on hand to show you what life was like in Ireland 100 years ago, as well as the various traditional trades. Find out how a blacksmith worked, help feed the chickens, donkeys and goats, take part in the cooking of a typical Irish household, or help shear a sheep… The activities are as fun as they are surprising!

But that’s not all! The park boasts an impressive collection of cars and modes of transport dating from 1800 to the present day, including steam locomotives, horse-drawn carriages, electric streetcars, vintage motorcycles, vintage cars and farm machinery!

The playful site extends over a 170-hectare estate along Belfast Lough. We’ve got some great ideas for walks!
