The Cill Airne is a Dublin gourmet restaurant located in the heart of the docklands. Its unique feature is that it is housed on a boat: a unique opportunity to dine in an original and unusual setting, while enjoying top-class food. It faces the famous Dublin Convention Centre, one of the city’s iconic conference venues. It’s a great place to eat: the dishes are sumptuous and the setting is well worth the detour! In short: a renowned gastronomic address, well known in Dublin!
The Cill Airne
The Cill Airne is housed in a former cargo ship. Now completely renovated and transformed into a restaurant, the establishment boasts lovely views over the River Liffey and Dublin city.
It’s here, in a unique setting of wood panelling and windows overlooking the Liffey, that you can enjoy masterly Irish-inspired dishes. Option to eat inside the boat, or on its outside deck in fine weather. All in a very pleasant atmosphere!
The à la carte menu includes seafood chowder (a traditional Irish fish soup to die for), Irish beef fillet with potatoes and caramelized shallots, baked lemon sole, fried chicken burger, succulent fish and chips…and much more. All served with fries, onion rings, salad and more.
Dishes are served quickly thanks to friendly, efficient staff. Taste: it’s simple, it’s delicious. The portions are hearty, and the products are local. Everything is masterfully executed: the plates are gourmet and well presented.
Prices may be a little more expensive than elsewhere, but you’re paying for quality and eating in a floating restaurant. Expect to pay between €25 and €45 for a starter and main course, excluding drinks. Count on a little more if you’d like to finish with a climactic dessert.
We recommend dining on board in the evening: the setting is even more intimate, with the lights of the city and the quiet, dark charm of the Liffey.
