Here’s a fun factoid to say the least! Just as Bono, the famous Irish singer from U2, was about to give an impromptu concert on Dublin’s Grafton Street, the city’s police, having failed to recognize him, reportedly ordered Bono to get out of the way and stop his concert!
The event took place on December 24 itself, when Bono began an impromptu acoustic concert in the streets of Dublin, accompanied by Damien Rice and the lead singer of The Frames. The crowd of passers-by would then have challenged the Dublin police, who asked the band to stop singing.
A rather funny situation, since the police officers didn’t recognize Bono or Damien Rice, who are the best-known Irish artists in their country!
After a friendly explanation, Bono was able to pick up where he left off… Much to the delight of Dublin fans!
